Start Me Up….

So what’s this blog all about.  The honest truth is I’ve found it difficult to find many blogs that really fit my photographical needs so I’ve decided to make my own.  What has frustrated me with other blogs I’ve looked at is that they’re run by professional photographers.  Let me tell you now that I am NOT a professional.  I have no aspirations of becoming a professional and I feel at peace with that decision.  I started my photography “career” four years ago when I bought my current camera a Canon Rebel XT.  I have taken no formal classes nor have I spent hundreds of dollars attending some seminar and everything I’ve learned has been from scouring the net and reading all I could.  It’s been a frustrating process at times finding sites and information that fits my needs.  There is no big photo budget for me as I’m a newlywed and trying to finish school and would honestly feel kind of guilty spending thousands of dollars on photo equipment.  It’s been a challenge making the most of what I’ve got, but it’s been a fun process.  I’m still learning and trying things out and hope to share those experiences with you here.  I plan on doing the obligatory stuff on photography basics and post processing plus some fun things to try.  My grand hope is to help out those who are just starting out or who are looking to make their hobby of photography more enjoyable or those seeking a higher state of enlightenment.  Nothing too big 🙂
